What is a dental implant?
A dental implant is a highly sophisticated device that takes the place of a missing tooth.
There are 3 components to a dental implant:
Implant
Placed in your jawbone and acts as the new root of your tooth.
Abutment
Attaches to the implant and is the connecting piece that joins the prosthesis to the implant.
Prosthesis (restoration)
This can be a crown, bridge, or denture, and attaches to the abutment for a solid and secure hold.
Getting started — you have options
Missing just one tooth?
A single dental implant crown may be your best option.
- Looks and works like a natural tooth
- Restores your natural chewing ability
Missing many or all of your teeth?
An implant-supported denture or bridge may be the right solution.
- Permanent solution compared to removable dentures
- Replace multiple teeth with fewer implants
How it works
01
Meet with your dentist to assess the health of your teeth, gums, and jawbone
02
Our oral surgeon, Dr. Carrington, will prepare your jaw bone for treatment and place your implant(s)
03
We’ll work with you to determine the best type of restoration (the visible part of your implant), typically a crown, bridge, or denture
04
Your dentist will add the restoration and provide you with a perfect new smile!

FAQs
Are dental implants really worth it?
We’re passionate about helping people change their life through dental implants. Dental implants restore your ability to smile, chew, and regain your confidence after suffering a lost or damaged tooth. Compared to removable dentures, implants are also great for your health and offer support to your jawbone, helping you avoid bone resorption.
Am I a candidate for dental implants?
Most people are! We often recommend this tooth-replacement treatment for those who:
- Have several damaged or missing teeth
- Are missing one tooth
- Need one or more teeth pulled
- Are unhappy with or don’t want traditional dentures
Request a consultation today and find out if implants are right for you.
